For Andrea Falgheri, it was a short step. After huge successes, he has decided to dedicate himself to teaching youth.
Andrea Falgheri, successful tennis player form Bergamo, today works as an instructor at the Sportpiù Center in Curno, in the school named after him.
Falgheri boasts a long professional career and has dedicated his entire life to the sports world. Tennis is in his family’s DNA, seeing that his grandfather, father, and uncle were huge champions and extremely passionate about the sport. Andrea grew up between matches and practices, years that allowed him to become a true tennis star from Bergamo. But that’s not all. Behind him he has an important career that led, in 2010, to being number 416 ATP in the world and allowed him to bring back to Bergamo, after 20 years, victory in an international tournament. Done competing, now Andrea Falgheri dedicates himself to the growth and training of new champions, as tennis instructor at the Sport Più in Curno.
“I grew up with tennis – comments enthusiast Andrea Falgheri- within my family I found huge support and, in particular, I thank my Uncle Marcello Bassanelli, another champion from Bergamo, for having always supported me, allowing me to arrive at position 416 of the ATP”.
Andrea Falgheri’s career was interrupted early due to back problems, but not before winning an international tournament in Greece, that affirmed him as one of the best tennis players from Bergamo ever.
“I have raised young tennis players for several years, and at Sport Più in Curno I find myself very well – says Falgheri – since the beginning, I found structures ideal for cultivating future talent. Under my guidance, I train around 120 kids and about 15 of them compete continuously. Between the under 12 and under 14 groups there are various elements that bode well: it’s from these two categories that the first two teams were created.”
Continuous trainings during the week enable talented youth to grow, day by day, and dream of the international stage, lived by Andrea Falgheri.
“We train every day, and we are on the court until 8 pm – continues Falgheri -. But we are instantly gratified by the enthusiasm and the commitment demonstrated by our students. The physical tiredness very often leaves space for satisfaction.”
The life-long dream? “Leave behind physical difficulties and return in a team with my students“.
The Andrea Falgheri tennis school, founded in 2013, is located in the Sportpiù in Curno at via Enrico Fermi 31. There are numerous covered and manmade courts available.
The Sportpiù Resort center in Curno is ready to experience the new summer season, thanks to the multiple external structures immersed in greenery, including the pool and numerous padel courts, one of the sports spreading quickly at an international level. It’s our latest and most innovative project. The structure, built according to the highest standards of design and attention to detail, is an eco-friendly club, built with environmental respect in mind.
